Mike is responsible for HMRC’s digital and data strategies, and all of the technology powering one of the largest digitally-enabled transformations anywhere in Europe. He’s also responsible for the running of one of the UK’s largest and most complex IT estates. Additionally, Mike is implementing HMRC’s move from a single IT outsourcing deal to a dynamic multi-supplier environment. This shift will ensure HMRC can deliver truly innovative solutions that make a real difference for customers, and get the best deal for the taxpayer.
Mike came to HMRC in 2014 with an impressive record of delivering transformational change. Before taking up his current post in October 2016, Mike was HMRC’s Digital Transformation Director. He led the design and delivery of digital tax accounts for customers, which are at the heart of how the Department is modernising tax. Prior to this Mike was Transformation Director at NHS Blood and Transplant, responsible for overseeing all change. He has also led major transformation in the Rural Payments Agency.
Mike is a Chartered Chemical Engineer.
